Stick Horse Cowgirls

Did any of you see this heart-stopping YouTube video?  I first saw it on a news broadcast and only made it through the entire thing because the anchor said at the outset: “ Don’t worry—it all ends well.” I loved seeing this—how the little ducklings would scurry back to the guidance of their mother after their little group was scattered by the wind of passing traffic.  How she would wait on them to regroup before continuing her perilous path. It made me think back to one of my favorite childhood books: Make Way for Ducklings , by Robert McCloskey (1942 Caldecott Award.)  For those of you who don’t know this book, it is  about a family of ducks crossing a city street (with the help of the friendly traffic policeman) to get to the lake at the Boston Public  Gardens.  The book is famous enough to merit sculpture at the gardens to commemorate it. Another of my favorites was about Mike Mulligan and his steam shovel Marianne (by Virginia Burton, 1939.)...

This is just the time for V and me to feel harried, I guess.  Her last post was about the same theme as this one: too much to do! I’ve been blessed with company over the past couple of weeks, and my business is so hectic that I have been feeling like the old woman who lived in the shoe with so many kids tugging on her all the time. I am beginning to liken myself to this: Ys, Yes, my job is like herding cats.  For one thing, there are never enough hours in the day.  For another, my clients have lately been tending to veer out of the herd on their own—not safe—and have to be “rounded up,” back under control.  It just seems like craziness is more rampant lately. I guess this is either good or bad, depending on your point of view: good for my business but bad for those folks who need a divorce lawyer! Even V and I have not had time to get together, and I miss it.  Hoping to rectify that soon and being able to post more frequently. Happy tails, er, I ...

Alright, as a woman whose husband left her for someone 28 years younger, I know I have a bit of an axe to grind on this one, but I laughed so hard when I happened onto this.  V was over last night, and she thought it was funny, too.  So, here’s a little video that caused me to laugh: Did you laugh, too?  Hope your Monday is a good one…I’m off to a BUSY one!  C

I just had to preempt my post from earlier today with this YouTube clip sent by a friend.  I loved it—wish I had been there: My web browsing indicates this was at Welland Seaway Mall, Welland, Canada. It got me in the real Christmas Spirit!  Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!  C

Well, it made me chuckle out loud, actually.  I am so in awe of creativity.  I tend to live in the “concrete,” and when I see something like this, it makes me scratch my head at how someone can be so creative!  So, please meet: Marcel the Shell (with shoes on!): Have a Great Weekend! C

Spring is here, which means all of us will be out in the midst of nature, whether gardening or just strolling through the woods.  Watch this video and see if you can’t keep your eyes peeled while you’re out and about and help her out! You might want to equip yourself with one of those little butterfly nets, like she has.  I think Pink would be best…for reasons best understood after this video.   Remember, some things have to be believed to be seen   Happy Spring!  C
