C: Saturday!

saturday It’s Saturday, and I am so glad!!  Of course, here I am at 4 a.m. typing this post, so sleeping in has escaped me, but still I have the weekend ahead with no set responsibility!  I may snuggle back down in the bed for “second sleep” before it’s all over.

Except I need to be doing house cleaning….

But that, too, is a luxury.  MIL has arranged for (and insisted I use) a housekeeper every other week.  I think she’s tired of the dust bunnies in my corners and all.  So, housekeeper comes this Wednesday.  What this means, of course, is that I haSNFve to clean  my house!  If I don’t, she’ll turn on her heels and flee at first glance.

I’ll be picking my mother up this afternoon to spend the rest of the weekend out here.  She’ll clean, too—nothing like extra hands!  Then she, MIL and I will go out on the town—Saturday night, you know!

And, mundane post that this is, let me talk again about the weather:  It is glorious!  Instead of the rain I wrote about last time, now we have gentle, billowy winds.  You know, the kind of autumn breezes that come suddenly, bouncing off the ground and lifting your skirts!  Just puffs of air here and  there—hold on to papers, or they’ll scatter!  Temperatures in the 50-60’s.  Just beautiful!

It feels good to write a relaxing, easy-does-it post.  I hope you all have a relaxing, easy-does-it weekend!  C

Rain here for the third day, but I'm happy to know that good weather is on its way, especially if you'll send some. That's how I'd be with a housekeeper, too. Cleaning my head off so she wouldn't be too dismayed. Kind of defeats the point, eh?

Today I was in a pj and read only coma, probably caused by skittles for last nights supper and the lack of sun today, until 4:30. I needed a saturday, sounds like you did too. Enjoy your night out. :)

So happy to hear that you are in such a good mood.;) Here Sunday is already half gone, but weather wise we have had two most glorious and unforgettable days ever.;) So I guess the sunshine is universal.;)

C: Lessons on a Bridge

We have a graceful bridge over the Arkansas River, uniting the North and South of our metropolitan area from its western side.  I don’t travel this bridge very often—maybe three or four times a year—finding that my travels take me more east-west and, if I go north, I usually travel on the Eastern side of the loop. But this week I had court in another county, and the logical route home brought me by way of this bridge.  It was on that day (last Thursday), that something occurred to me.  Never —not one time, I’d venture to say—do I traverse this bridge without thinking of an incident that occurred there in 1999.  Yes, 13 years ago, and the incident is still in my mind every time I cross the bridge.  I told V about this, and she c onfirmed that she, too, often thinks of it.
